Badewa Ajibade

PhD student at Concordia University investigating the reclamation of queer Black bodies through 3D immersive cinema, somatic movement, and interdisciplinary research-creation.

Somatic Reclamation

My academic and artistic practice bridges high-level theory with physical expression. Holding an MFA in Studio Arts, my current doctoral research-creation at Concordia University explores how movement and dance can re-map marginalized bodies within immersive digital environments.

Working under the supervision of Dr. Angélique Willkie, Dr. Erin Manning, and Dr. Rosanna Maule, I integrate contemporary dance and queer Black bodies into a unified 3D immersive thesis film.
